Hundreds of young people in Busia District have declared firm support for President Yoweri Museveni, dismissing what they described as attempts by foreign actors to influence Uganda’s youth through confrontational activism.

The young leaders said the movement has been organising across the country to promote what they call ideological clarity, patriotism and an understanding of the historical context behind Uganda’s stability.

They argued that foreign-inspired trends circulating among some Kenyan youth would not take root among Ugandans committed to development and national peace.

“We’re not here for imported drama. We’re here to build the Uganda we want,” one youth leader said, insisting that the group would not entertain what they termed foreign-engineered chaos or ideologically confused activism.

The movement said its support for Museveni is based on achievements they identify in peace and security, economic growth, infrastructure expansion, digital transformation and youth-focused programmes.

They argued that these gains must be defended and expanded rather than risked through what they see as destabilising political pressures.
